Like someone in love (ソロ付き (soro-tsuki))-jimmy van heusen

🎵 This version is performed at a relaxed yet powerful tempo of 90 BPM.

The left hand mainly uses a “4 on the floor” style — giving each beat a steady, grounded pulse.

In the sheet music, it’s notated as quarter notes for convenience,

but when you play, try performing them about the length of an eighth note — not quite staccato, but with a light and crisp touch.

The solo section is played over two choruses.

Although there are many accidentals, which might make the score look a bit confusing,

the overall tempo is slow and relaxed, so once you get familiar with the notation, it shouldn’t be too difficult to perform.

The most important thing is to listen to the audio reference to internalize the rhythm!

In jazz, it’s common to play slightly behind the beat — what’s called a “laid-back feel” — rather than matching every beat exactly.

Since those subtle rhythmic nuances aren’t fully notated, listening to the recording will help you capture the authentic jazz sound more effectively. 🎷

Wishing you an enjoyable practice and performance! 🍃
