The track is transcribed in the original key, A Flat Major, and uses extended till the seventh degrees major and minor chords A♭ Fm C Gm E♭ B♭m. I omitted the extensions in the main part, but you can play the chords with the seventh degrees.

Its cyclical chord change (loop) highlights melodic development.

“Ojos Tristes” is composed with straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.

The left-hand provides an accompaniment. Play any pattern here (chords, arpeggios, tremolo, ostinato).

The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Selena and María: the predominant articulation is tenuto. Use a different touch for the first and second verses to distinguish girls' parts apart. There are some tiny backing vocal in the chorus, I didn't include it because it brings nothing to the song.

The instrumental bridge and la-da-da coda are included.
