The track is written in the C Sharp Major (a key with seven sharps) but transcribed in the equivalent key, D Flat Major (with only five flats), and uses basic major and minor chords D♭ A♭ G♭ B♭m E♭m7 Fm.

Its cyclical chord change (loop) highlights melodic development and is standard for rock music.

E♭m7 and Fm in the pre-chorus create secondary colors.
