"Die with a Smile" is transcribed in the original key, A Major, and uses basic major and minor chords A D C♯m F♯m F♯ Bm E with extension to the seventh and ninth degrees. The harmony employs a non-harmonic chord F♯. Notice the ellipsis (omitted chords) in the left hand. Avoid pedaling here.

Notice that since the second chorus the small notes (supporting vocals) are not meant to be played, they are for the second singer. Nevertheless, you can play them, but more quiet that the main vocal part.

"Die with a Smile" is composed in triple meter 3/4. Accent strong beats but do it softly. 

Learn the left hand first and avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning. Patience is a virtue. Otherwise you will fail immediately and abandon the score.

The left-hand maintains movement with walking bass and repeated chords.

The right hand imitates the vocal delivery by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars: a predominant vocal style is forced tenuto.

Pitch inflections (slurred notes) should be played quietly.

The melody of verses uses Cercar della nota (search for the note) — a vocal technique of using notes from above or below before a needed note.

The aesthetic value of a track is based on stepwise motion that reminds of human speech.

The composition is based on ABABCB formula. This is a variation on the verse-chorus structure, with the addition of a bridge. Following the bridge, one final chorus drives the song to its conclusion.
