Today, I will be talking about 2 things. 

First one is about use of Dim7 chord.

You can fill in four beats with E7 in 7th bars, but also can connect half-tone Fdim7 with eight bars of F#m7. Dim7 is often used as a passing method like this. 

Second is Line Cliche. 

This is the technique that I use a lot. When you look at 9-11 bars, it goes F#m - F#mM7 - F#m7.

Even if its the same F#m, you will be able to change Fa# --> Fa --> Mi. 

One other example is that when you look at 13-15 bars, it goes E - Emaj7 - E7 and changed from Mi to Re# to Re.
