"Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling," composed by Will L. Thompson in 1880, is a quintessential gospel hymn. Thompson, who had a deep passion for evangelism, desired to compose a melody that anyone could easily understand, conveying the Lord's earnest call. The refrain, "Come home, come home," represents the Lord's unchanging love for wandering souls. In 2026, as we navigate the distractions of the world, this hymn reminds us that the Lord is calling our names and waiting for our return. It is a gentle yet powerful hand of comfort to all who are weary. I hope this performance helps you hear the Lord's warm voice knocking on your heart. He is waiting for you; come home, for He loves you.
