Please, notice there are both versions of the track. The original one is solo piano and the sad one is duet piano + vocal. Three pdfs.
The original version is in B Minor, and uses basic major and minor chords Bm G A D. The sad one is in G Minor.
Its cyclical chord change (loop) highlights melodic development.
The progression is cadential and uses ellipsis (omitting of chords).
The vocals are typed using the optional 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Play the right hand at written pitch but sing one octave lower than written.
“cliché” is composed with straight rhythm in the common time. Accent strong beats.
I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.
The left-hand provides an accompaniment. Play any pattern here (chords, arpeggios, tremolo, ostinato).
The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Machine Gun Kelly: the predominant articulation is mix of staccato and tenuto. Focus on precise rhythm in the rap part. Rap is tiring to play with forte touch; play pianissimo.
The melody is build with a rapid flow, if you play everything intense, the piece will sound dull.
Much of the song’s aesthetic value is generated through stepwise motion that reminds of human speech.
