Franz Liszt's Liebestraum No. 3 (S. 541), redesigned for pianists with smaller hands — Small-Hand Edition.
This is not a simplified or beginner arrangement. The goal is to preserve the original musical character, texture, and difficulty while redesigning selected physical hand-size barriers.
The 89-bar piece (Poco allegro, con affetto, ♩ = 96) is in A-flat major, and octaves are kept where they matter musically. The musical character and texture are preserved while selected hand-size barriers — the stretches beyond a comfortable octave — are redesigned.
- Widest span one hand strikes at once: 12 semitones (an octave)
- Chords wider than an octave: 0
- Wide-looking spans carried by the pedal: 9 bars (bars 30, 43-45, 49-51, 68 and 73) — a high note is struck and held by the pedal while the same hand plays lower notes
- Fingering and pedal marks included
Designed for pianists who can handle the musical and technical demands of the original work, but are limited by selected stretches beyond a comfortable octave.
PLAYABLE PIANO
We don't make hard music easy.
We make it more playable for smaller hands.
