Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto No.2 sheet music for piano solo-S. Rachmaninoff

I arranged Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 for solo piano in a full-length version.

The initial concept for this arrangement was roughly formed around 2008, but I had left it untouched for a long time. Finally, I am delighted to present it to everyone in its complete form.

This arrangement aims to stay as faithful as possible to the original composition while harmonizing the piano part with the orchestra and adapting it for solo piano.

However, due to the constraints of the solo piano, there were many parts, especially in the orchestral sections, that had to be omitted.

Throughout the composition, multiple melodies flow like intertwining rivers, and beautiful harmonies resonate wherever you choose to listen.

Careful consideration was given to the omitted sections to ensure that the charm of the piece remained intact.

Normally, a piano concerto involves the piano and orchestra resonating together to enhance the beauty of the music. I have painstakingly experimented with every detail to express this through a solo piano arrangement.

■ Regarding the required level of technical skill for performance

To play the original concerto's piano part, a high level of performance technique is necessary.

As a guideline, it is desirable to be able to master Chopin and Debussy's etudes.

このアレンジの原案は2008年頃に大まかな構想ができていましたが、それを長らく手を付けず眠らせていました。そして、今回、ついにそれを完全な形に仕上げ、皆様にお披露目できることを喜ばしく思います。

このアレンジは、元の楽曲に対してできるだけ忠実でありつつ、ピアノパートをオーケストラと調和させ、ピアノソロに落とし込みました。

ただし、ピアノソロの制約の中で、特にオーケストラの部分においては省略せざるを得ない箇所が多かったことは否めません。

この楽曲は、全体を通して複数の旋律が流れる河川の様に折り重なる部分が多く、どこを切り取っても美しいハーモニーが響きます。

その魅力が損なわれないよう、省略箇所についても非常に慎重に選びました。

通常、ピアノ協奏曲はピアノとオーケストラが共鳴し合い、音楽の魅力を最大限に引き立てるものですが、それをいかにしてピアノソロで表現できるか、細部に渡り試行錯誤し、このアレンジが完成しました。

■演奏上必要な技術レベルについて

原曲である協奏曲のピアノパートが弾けることが前提となるため、高い水準の演奏技術が必要となります。

目安として、ショパンやドビュッシーのエチュードを弾きこなせる程度が望ましいです。
