"More About Jesus Would I Know" was written by Eliza E. Hewitt in 1887. Bedridden due to a spinal injury, Hewitt wrote this beautiful confession of faith while meditating on the inner nature of Jesus Christ. The lyrics, expressing a desire to know the breadth, power, and depth of Jesus' grace, capture a believer's fervent aspiration to unite personally with Christ beyond mere intellectual belief. Since John R. Sweney composed the melody in the late 19th century, this hymn has served as a milestone for believers worldwide, reminding them of the essence of faith. In 2026, amid our busy daily lives, it is easy to lose sight of our first love for Jesus. I hope this hymn helps you experience the joy of walking with Him.
This arrangement is designed for congregational worship, focusing on the melody and avoiding excessive jazz chords that might distract from worship. Since it is not a 4-part arrangement, it is perfect for solo piano accompaniment during church services or meditative prayer times.
