This piece is the classic "Doxology," an essential part of the liturgical life in churches across the world. While this is listed as Hymn 2 in the Korean Hymnal, it is universally known as the Doxology. In services where a piano accompanist leads the liturgy, the choice of music for the Introit is critical.
During the pre-service meditation time, overly intricate or flashy piano playing can often distract from the congregation's prayers. Therefore, I have arranged this classic with a focus on reverence and simplicity. I kept the chord progressions largely faithful to the original, using subtle substitutions to add a touch of sophistication without losing the traditional solemnity.
When playing, please ensure the right-hand melody is prominent while maintaining a soft, supportive left hand. This balance allows the music to serve as a prayerful "Introit," guiding the hearts of the congregation toward the throne of God.
