This is an arrangement of the classic hymn, "To Be Like Jesus." Unlike it appears, this piece was surprisingly tricky and sensitive to rearrange. ㅡ,.ㅡ;;
If I simplified the left-hand accompaniment too much, the song dragged and felt overly sentimental like a pop ballad. On the other hand, adding more weight to the left hand made the newly introduced chord progressions feel slightly unstable. Interestingly, my usual golden rule—"keep the left hand soft and quiet"—didn't quite work for this piece. If you play the left-hand bass notes with a bit more firmness and solid pressure than usual, it should prevent the music from drifting into a sagging, overly melancholy mood. (Though, as you can hear in my demonstration, I still ended up playing it rather quietly out of habit! ^^)
When I tried to apply a more sophisticated reharmonization, the altered chords kept clashing with the main melody. Forcing alternative changes only made the flow feel awkward and unnatural. To be completely honest, this arrangement isn't one of my personal favorites. I suggest using this score merely as a creative reference—a showcase of "one of many ways to play this hymn"—rather than a strict textbook guide.
