The Haven of Rest (There Is Rest for the Weary Soul) (Shuffle Rhythm Congregational Worship Arrangement (Ab, G, F keys) - Hymn 405 (The Baptist Hymnal)

This is an arrangement of the classic hymn, "The Haven of Rest." It is an incredibly joyful and uplifting piece that has practically become a staple opening praise song for many worship services.

For beginner accompanists who might find the flat chords of the original Ab major key a bit challenging, I have also prepared transposed versions in the easier keys of G and F major. This arrangement is highly melody-driven to ensure the congregation can follow along easily, and it is paired with a familiar, bright "shuffle rhythm."

Honestly, I really wanted to create a more contemporary version with a refined 16-beat funk groove. However, I plan to experiment with that style once my current traditional hymnal arrangement project is fully completed! ^^

As a performance tip, the dotted rhythms scattered throughout the piece should be played gently as "ghost notes" (barely touched or whispered). If you strike these notes too hard or honestly, the overall rhythmic pulse can become overly cluttered, making the arrangement sound messy and distracting. Keep this in mind as you practice your touch dynamics, and you'll achieve a much cleaner, more professional sound.
