In the demo, I played in the key of F major. The first verse follows the score, while the second verse features a freer, more expressive style.
"I Love Thee" is a hymn I personally cherish deeply. It has a rich history, having been introduced to Korea by missionary Horace G. Underwood, and it remains one of the most beloved hymns for congregational singing.
This arrangement is designed specifically for congregational worship during Sunday services. It focuses heavily on the melody. I believe that overly complex jazz chords can sometimes distract from the message and the reverent atmosphere of worship, so I have applied subtle reharmonization, staying close to the original primary chords while adding just enough color to make it fresh.
Please note that this is not a traditional four-part harmony arrangement, so it is not suitable for choir accompaniment. However, it is perfectly suited for solo piano accompaniment in church services or for times of silent meditation and prayer before worship begins. Play the left hand softly to bring out the delicate and sweet sound I intended. ^^
