I Need Thee Every Hour (Congregational Worship Arrangement (Eb, D, C keys))-Hymn 397 (UMH)

Hymn 397, "I Need Thee Every Hour." The original key is Eb major, but I have also prepared arrangements in D and C major for your convenience.

In the demonstration, I played in the key of D. The first part follows the score, while the latter part features a freer interpretation.

One challenge in congregational singing is when pianists stop playing during rests, causing the congregation to lose the tempo or fall out of sync. I intentionally fill those gaps with piano accompaniment to ensure the congregation maintains a steady rhythm and never loses the beat—this is a core principle of Jini Worship. This arrangement is designed specifically for congregational worship during main Sunday services. It is melody-driven, and I have applied gentle reharmonization to add grace and emotion without overpowering the beautiful lyrics.

Please note that since this is not a traditional four-part harmony arrangement, it is not suitable for choir accompaniment. It is perfect, however, for solo piano accompaniment in churches without a full band or choir.
