Before my body is dry (Kill la Kill OST)-Hiroyuki Sawano

After weeks of delay, I finally managed to record my piano cover of one of the most iconic Kill la Kill soundtracks: Before my Body is dry (more known as DON'T LOSE YOUR WAY)

This piece was a real challenge to transcribe and I've edited the transcription numereous times until I was completely satisfied. My first draft for this piece was only 1:50 long, and it consisted the first chorus only. But then I decided to make a "full version" after all.

Instead of copy pasting the chorus again, I wrote a variation of the second chorus. I experimented with many different piano techniques for this sheet, therefore, its difficulty is pretty high. I think this transcription ranks among my top 10 most difficult transcriptions I ever made. Especially the massive high speed octave slashing in the end is a real challenge for every pianist.

As mentioned earlier on facebook, I cut out the "rapping part" from the original track and replaced it with my own transition. (I used the same method for my Euterpe piano sheet, lol)

Fun fact: this piece is played 80% on black keyes because it has 7 accidentals (e-flat minor)

Last but not least, congratulation to Hiroyuki Sawano for delivering another amazing soundtrack after Shingeki no Kyojin and Guilty Crown. He know how to create a adrenaline-pumped atmosphere with his compositions.

For some reason, my most difficult piano covers I ever made are soundtracks composed by him. Coincidence?

I think not.
