The Carpenters, a pop music duo from the United States, consisted of siblings Richard and Karen Carpenter. They rose to fame in the 1970s and early 1980s, becoming a hallmark of contemporary pop music. Their songs have been a shared memory across generations of music lovers for five decades. In 1973, the Carpenters released their fifth studio album, "Now & Then," which reached the second position on the Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart. In 2022, Prof. Cynthia Hsiang adapted three popular songs from the "Now & Then" album into a guzheng trio called the Carpenters Suite.
