This song has no flats or sharps in its key signature, so at first glance it is easy to mistake for a major-key piece. In fact, it is a minor song that ends on A minor (Am). This is an easy piano arrangement, with the melody and chords simplified so that even beginner accompanists can play it comfortably, and the note names (do-re-mi) are written into the score so that those still learning to read music can follow along. After the intro, the arrangement opens with a melody-accompaniment section in which the tune sings out clearly, while the left hand supports it with gently flowing broken chords. Because this is a minor song, please resist the urge to rush; letting the lyrics settle as you play will bring out the feeling of the piece. This performance was recorded in the key of A minor (Am).
"The Father's Heart" (titled "Samogok" in Korean) is a contemporary worship song composed by Lee Kwon-hee. It begins with the confession, "Now I can understand the meaning of these flowing tears," and turns toward the heart of the Father as He looks upon a dying soul. The words "I can no longer just stand and watch; I will run to them" lead into a pledge of devotion: to follow the cross and, for the sake of saving souls, to give even one's own life. It is a song to sing while sharing the Father's tears for the lost, and it suits times of worship, prayer, and mission gatherings.
