Sing My Pleasure (Piano Arrangement)-Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song-

It is finally here, my third-anniversary special arrangement. It was supposed to be uploaded on November 18, 2021, but I had to postpone this project due to concert preparation. But better late than never! I also bought the Panasonic GH5M2 camera, and I will do my best to create better-quality videos.

After watching Vivy – Fluorite Eye’s Song- last November, I was deeply impressed. I was moved by Dr. Matsumoto's dedication; I bemoaned Grace and Ophelia's tragic love; I was impressed by Vivy's determination and inspired by Diva's enthusiasm. This anime contains too many incredible stories.

This arrangement is the longest, the most difficult, and the most special one I have ever written. I divided this piece into three parts, representing three characters (personalities) in the anime, the third anniversary, and three people who have significant meanings to me in the anime piano journey. And in these three parts, I tried my best to tell the story in the anime with all the experience of arranging.

Prologue (0:00)

For this arrangement, I created an original beginning for the first time, focusing on creating a feeling of “dialogue.” The melody “talks” to each other in two different ranges. While playing, I imagined two personalities, Diva and Vivy, communicating in the Archive. Diva encouraged Vivy with singing and soft words but got a weak response. At 0:22, the response was getting gradually more active. Finally, Vivy was awakened, but Diva disappeared.

Personality ①【Vivy - Dedication】(1:00), dedicated to James Chou

I gently expressed Vivy's obscurity and selfless dedication during Project Singularity in this part. Vivy always sings alone on the small stage in the corner of Nialand. At 1:44, Vivy met the AI Matsumoto from a hundred years later, learned about the future in which humans and AI cannot coexist, and finally determined to reverse everything. At this point, the music begins to change.

At 2:00, A gunshot rang out, and Project Singularity officially started.

2:16 - Sunrise Incident: Here, I created a simple three-hand passage showing the bond between Estella and Elizabeth. They were forced to be separated when they were first created. After many years, they met again at the Sunrise Hotel. At 2:33, the sisters hugged and sang to comfort everyone to save the space hotel's customers. At 2:45, the sisters are buried in the universe, and the music fades away to the next chapter.

Personality ②【Grace – Mourning】(3:00) Dedicated to my deceased friend KL (1999-2019)

In the second part, the music gradually becomes tragical. When I was watching the anime, I got immediately amazed by the Grace Version of Sing My Pleasure which appeared in Episode 6. Unlike the opening version, the Grace version has a very different string instrument design and musical structure. In this part, I would like to express the sadness and pain of witnessing the death of someone significant.

The string instrument ostinato first appeared at 3:00. At 3:12, the verse melody began. To maintain the excellent ostinato, I played it in the left hand and the melody in the right hand. At 3:22, I used big jumps that served as a powerful three-hand technique. Entering the chorus and the following bridge part, I tried my best to imitate the original song to reflect Vivy's fierce battle on the AI island.

At 5:12, the battle is over, and the music stops abruptly. Dr. Saeki watches Grace, who he loved, die and then commit suicide. Farewell is simply torturing and heartbreaking sometimes.

Personality ③ 【Diva – Shining Bright】 Dedicated to Animenz

In the third part, I want to use music to describe the brilliance of the singer Diva on the stage. I also want to use this last part to represent my experience and achievements over the past three years. Diva's enthusiasm and power always move me, inspiring me to create and make breakthroughs.

The music played in a calm atmosphere again at 5:16 because I wanted to describe the tragic love between Olivia and Antonio, which, after years of companionship, ended in martyrdom.

5:45 All my understanding and love for this anime begin here. From beginning to end, whether Diva or Vivy, their goal is to bring happiness to everyone with their singing. They want nothing more but to spread their voices. This reminds me once again of my dream as an anime pianist. So, I started running, I started to laugh, and I started to be energetic.

6:23, In the end. Vivy inherited the spirit of Diva and ended the final battle with her beautiful singing. This also symbolizes the success of my third anime piano concert in 2021.
