This arrangement is kept in the original key of D. The performances and karaoke tracks available from different distributors are also in the same key, and the length of the piece matches the original.
Part 1 mainly carries the melody, but there are quite a few big leaps and frequent key changes, so it needs some attention. Around rehearsal mark B, the line follows the wind instruments, and in the long-tone sections, a few extra notes are added for support. You’ll also see many spots where a dotted eighth note plus a sixteenth note make up one beat. Some phrases may feel a bit busy tempo-wise, but if you can play both notes clearly, it will really bring out the groove.
Part 2 is mostly about backing. Just focus on keeping the rhythm steady. At the beginning, be mindful of how it overlaps with the melody so that the timing stays tight. When you get to the arpeggio parts, don’t play them too strongly—think of creating a soft, floating chord atmosphere that blends with the whole piece.
